Muslims have threatened to disrupt the World Cross Country Championship to be held in Mombasa after the negotiations for return of Kenyans who were deported to Somalia on suspicion they were Union of Islamic Courts (UIC) fighters failed.

Consequently, Muslim leaders yesterday called on their followers to converge in Mombasa for a three-day protest against the deportation next week.

The chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum said in Nairobi that "there will be no cross country if the 25 suspects are not returned to Kenya."
