Nyeri Town MP Peter Gichohi Mureithi is burning midnight oil to try and break the jinx in the constituency which has been shedding off successive MPs after only one term.

And for this, it has attracted one of the biggest crowds out to prove what voters have been doing for the last 20 years - to change MPs like clothes.

Mr Mureithi, popularly known as "PG" is the fourth MP. The larger Nyeri was broken into three - Town, Tetu and Kieni.

Like in the other constituencies in the district, the fight for the seat could end at the Narc Kenya nomination stage, the party widely seen as President Kibaki's ticket choice.
