The Government has rolled out yet another multi-billion initiative to improve and expand the road network countrywide, with the focus being the use of intensive labour. Thus, the project seeks to achieve two objectives - extend the number of kilometres of usable roads and also provide up to 150,000 jobs to youth.

A laudable undertaking by all counts and one wishes that, what is on paper will eventually appear on the ground. In the first place, the question of unusable roads is now long talked about and needs no new exposition.
