Mar. 16--TAMARAC -- A hive with about 10,000 bees, dangling from a tree about 50 feet high, was destroyed outside a vacant home Thursday, and the exterminator warned residents to be on the lookout for more.
Exterminator William Sklaroff, also known as Willie the Bee Man, said bees probably swarmed to other homes and he expected to see more residents phoning exterminators. No one was stung during the hive's removal in the 4700 block of Bayberry Lane. Because the bees didn't attack anyone, Sklaroff said he didn't collect a bee sample for lab tests to determine whether they were docile honeybees or the aggressive Africanized variety,…
