Mar. 15--An outbreak at First Ward Elementary School last Friday was likely caused by a stomach virus, county health department officials said Thursday. In all, 28 fifth-graders began showing symptoms of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea after lunch Friday. Six were taken to Carolinas Medical Center as a precaution, the Health Department said.
