Section: Government and Politics - The Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA) could not agree on March 12 if the Election Commission should have sole responsibility for organising a national referendum on the new charter, The Nation reports.

Praphan Naikowit and Sodsri Satayathum, who are both CDA and Election Commission (EC) members, insisted that the EC should be independent of the CDA, although some constitution drafters wanted to "oversee" how the EC prepares and manages the referendum.
