The board of the weekly Financial Gazette has succumbed to pressure from Zanu PF [Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front] and the Central Intelligence Organization (CIO) to sacrifice its Editor-in-Chief Sunsleey Chamunorwa who has been forced out four years after saving the paper from collapse.

Chamunorwa was barred from entering the Financial Gazette offices Tuesday after he was told he had been relieved of his duties as the paper's editor.

Chamunorwa confirmed the development but insisted: "No hard feelings. I don't have any comment for now."
