The Speedcar Series, a new championship for NASCAR-style cars in the Middle East and Asia, launched the week of Feb. 26. Series manager Benoit Lamonerie said there will be 24 cars and 18 races. The inaugural season will start in November 2007 and end in April 2008. No race schedule was issued, but the 600-hp cars are headed for Bahrain, Dubai, Qatar, China, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.
