Taipei, March 12, 2007 (CENS)--All major automakers in Taiwan have moved to hike the prices of their diesel-engine commercial vehicles by an average of 20%

Industry insiders said that the fourth-stage emission regulation in Taiwan will cover all diesel- and gasoline-engine automobiles sold in Taiwan in 2008. All the new cars will face high pressure for price hike, while many existing gasoline-engine commercial vehicle models will be forced out of the market by the end of the year, including Toyota Zace, Mitsubishi Freeca, Ford Econovan, Mazda Bongo etc
