Mar. 11--NEWARK, Del. -- In December, doubt shadowed the dynasty.
Through its first 11 basketball games, the Old Dominion women's basketball team had seven losses. Sure, some were to Duke and Tennessee. Others were to Charlotte and Middle Tennessee. Would this be the year that the Lady Monarchs' Colonial Athletic Association dominance at last ended? That was the question in December. The answer came on Sunday. ODU hit shots when it had to and came up with crucial defensive stops to beat James Madison 78-70 in the CAA championship game.
