SVT head goes south

The first AC Propulsion eBox electric vehicle (AW, July 31, 2006) went into the first customer garage in February, when EV enthusiast Tom Hanks took delivery of the converted, all-electric Scion xB at his Santa Monica, California, home.
While purchase price varies depending on how many batteries you want inside, eBoxes go for about $70,000, which includes the cost of the xB. Actor Hanks' new car has a 35-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack that gives it a 150-mile range.
