When a warrior writes a book about the cost of a war it should raise eyebrows. The upcoming biography by retired Brigadier Matayo Kyaligonza entitled the "Agony of Power" looks back at his career as a guerilla fighter especially during the five-year bush war, which led to the military triumph of the National Resistance Army in 1986.
Probably something like "The Price of Freedom" would have been a better title for the book. This is because Kyaligonza attempts to examine what individuals, big and small, gained and lost in the course of their struggle.
