Akwa Ibom State's PDP governorship candidate, Obong Godswill Akpabio, has promised to turn the state around in a period of six months, if voted into office in April this year.

At the flag-off of campaigns in Uyo on Friday February 23, 2007, where his former boss, Obong Victor Attah described him as the best governorship material for state, Akpabio said since he had a good teacher and mentor in Attah, he would never disappoint the people of the state.

"We would like to see a flyover on Ikot Ekpene Road. We would like to see a totally completed stadium that would host international matches right here in Uyo. We would like to see a lot of micro credits given out to people and a lot of small scale industries to take our youths from the streets. We'll like to see an empowered populace with a lot of employment opportunities for Akwa Ibom youths. We'll like to see a lot of love and harmony.
