Mar. 1--ROANOKE Carilion Clinic pathologists and radiologists have begun viewing breast-cancer tissue samples in 3-D, which, according to Carilion, makes it the only U.S. health-care provider to use the technique to study the disease. The three-dimensional technique promises to help radiologists better interpret mammograms and to increase pathologists' understanding of how cancers grow, said Dr. Lee Tucker, chairman of Carilion's department of pathology and laboratory medicine and medical director of the Carilion Breast Care Center.
