Trouble brews when crooks steal kegs for the steel: Police in Orange, Manchester say thieves cash in at scrap yards.

Mar. 1--ORANGE -- Police said the thieves had no interest in beer, but definitely liked heavy metal.

That's why, police said, the alleged crooks broke into a storage area at the rear of the On the Border restaurant early Wednesday and began tossing empty kegs into their car.

Police said Gerald Glazier, 32, of 22 Hilton Ave., West Haven, and David Zaleski, 23, of 203 Russell St., New Haven, were after some quick cash. Steel kegs are worth $30 to $40 at scrap yards, and such thefts are becoming a national trend.
