At Cosmo, we see our fair share--okay, more than our share--of delicious dudes. So to be named a Fun Fearless Male, a guy has to achieve a whole other level of all-around hotness. After you read their funny and soul-baring interview, we know you'll agree that these 14 men more than deserve Cosmo's most coveted title. Oh yeah--they're amazing to look at too. Enjoy!
Fun Fearless Male of the Year NICK LACHEY
He turned a sad year into successful one, thanks to a hot album and ambitious tour. Cosmo caught up with Nick to talk about past hurts and future possibilities
By Lesley Rotchford
Nick Lachey could single-handedly make the saying guys finish last" vanish into obscurity. In 2006, the sweet singer resurrected his music career with a successful second solo album, What's Left of Me, which debuted at number two on the Billboard charts and has sold more than 600,000 copies, earning it gold status. Then his "What's Left of Me" video was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award, and his much buzzed-about tour was extended.
This time last year, Nick was in a much different (and much lower) place. Sales of his first solo album, SoulO, were lackluster, and then came a bigger emotional blow: the end of his three-year marriage to Jessica Simpson. During that painful period, Nick began recording emotionally transparent songs, such as the hit single "What's Left of Me," as an outlet.
That cathartic exercise had an unexpected result: It scored him a new girlfriend. Nick started dating MTV'S Vanessa Minnillo after she appeared in his "What's Left of Me" video ... and after he had reportedly sown a few wild oats. Last winter and spring, he was linked to Laguna Beach babe Kristin Cavallari, former Miss Kentucky Elizabeth Arnold, and stylist Kim Kardashian.
