Man suspected of committing suicide a day before he wins pension lawsuit.

MORIOKA -- A man was found dead in a river in an apparent suicide the day before he won a damages lawsuit over the national government's refusal to pay him a pension for his handicap.

The 43-year-old man, whose name is being withheld, left home in Iwate Prefecture on Saturday night or early the next day. His body was found in a local river in Iwate Prefecture at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
