NINE motorcyclists were detained for suspected drug abuse and 400 others were issued summonses for various traffic offences in the first day of Ops Sikal yesterday.

Police seized 89 motorcycles after their riders failed to produce licences and insurance policies at three roadblocks in Cheras.

A total of 600 motorcyclists and their machines were screened during the nine-hour operation, which began at 3pm.
