OUR sports have been suffering for quite some time.

So much so, some fans have already given up on local sports.They prefer to pay and watch all those 'live' telecasts on cable TV - be it football, tennis, golf, cricket or boxing.

This is a sad fact.

It is not about being unpatriotic on the part of the fans.

Far from it.

But they do not want to get hurt again and again as our sportsmen struggle to make an impact after all the promises.

Can our sports improve and gradually make an impact at the international level in the future? Perhaps.
