Feb. 28--Four principals and a new associate superintendent were named Tuesday night by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Several other assistant principal positions were filled by the school board. At least one of the changes appears to be related to the decentralization of the school system, in which six regional offices (called "learning communities") will be established to improve service to the public.
