HEALTH Minister Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek should be congratulated for favouring a ban on fast-food advertisements. Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin is also to be praised for supporting such a move.

The Consumers' Association of Penang (CAP) has been campaigning for years against unhealthy food advertisements, especially those targeted at children. We have urged the authorities not to air these advertisements during children's television programmes.
