I THINK T.S. Ramasamy ("Cumbersome process", - NST, Feb 15) apparently does not know or was not made to understand by the pharmacy staff of University Malaya Medical Centre as to why he was not given a full supply of drugs.

There may be a valid reason. The principal reason may have been that it is the policy of the hospital to make part supply of drugs for a certain duration (up to three months).

The other reasons may be several and varied: * The drugs may have had a short expiry date or were nearing the expiry date.
