Tax amnesty clears Finance roadblock.

A tax amnesty approved by Congress earlier this week is all but certain to be implemented, with the Finance department admitting that it would help enhance the tax bureau's database and subsequently boost collections.

In adopting the Senate version of the tax amnesty, the House of Representatives on Tuesday assured that an election break would not stall the measure, which now goes directly to Malacanang for President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's signature.

Legislators said that once enacted into law, the amnesty will be implemented in six months.
