Half Hemis?
MOPAR might yet see the light (and the value) of Chip Foose's limited-edition Hemisfear super hot rod ("Foosetopia,'' Nov. 13). After our Feb. 12 report that lawyers had quashed the name for the car based on copyright issues, prompting Chip Foose to switch to Ford power and rename Hemisfear the Foose Coupe, Foose and MOPAR have been talking.
"We are in negotiations,'' Foose told us by cell phone from the NHRA season opener in Pomona.
Foose said he would like to offer both Ford- and Hemi-powered versions of the carbon fiber supercoupe. That could mean a buyer's market, at least for buyers able to meet the $300,000-plus sticker price.
