The heavy action is yet to come, but early reports out of Geneva indicate two hot sports cars and a wagon lead the list of sheetmetal we can expect to see this March.
Look for Honda to spice up the yawn-inducing image of the gasoline-electric hybrid with its Small Hybrid Sports Concept. The brainchild of Honda's European research and development arm in Germany, the concept fuses the company's latest hybrid technology with sports car characteristics, demonstrating that driving can be environmentally friendly and exciting at the same time. This concept should give us a good indication of Honda's plans to take the powertrain developed for Accord and Civic hybrids to the next level in a performance hybrid sports car.
Honda also will show its next-generation clean diesel engine, which uses a catalytic converter to clean harmful emissions with ammonia generated within the system. Honda plans to introduce the new engine within three years, and rumor has it the stateside version will appear first in the next Accord and Ridgeline.
Volvo will put the show on solid footing with the world debut of its 2008 V70 wagon. ...
