Abstract
What distinguishes the human beings from gods as well as beasts is that they have LOGOS, which means that, in order to perform their goals and even to understand the reality that surrounds them, human beings have tools. They can only understand something through the mediation of something. This conditioning converts us into "paradoxical beasts", of which Machado has spoken. To achieve a totally objective and non-mediated vision of our existence is impossible because for such purposes, we must use language and thought, which condition this vision. And, for us, it is impossible to understand language and thought properly, without using them as instruments.
