DALLAS _ The Miami Heat could be without guard Dwyane Wade for six weeks, and possibly much longer.
The All-Star guard, who was injured during Wednesday's loss in Houston, flew to Miami for an examination, which confirmed the initial diagnosis of a dislocated left shoulder.
The Heat said Wade will take time to deliberate treatment options after meeting Thursday with team physician Harlan Selesnick. A source familiar with Wade's treatment options said a six-week program of rest and rehabilitation is among the prime considerations.
"We know it's going to be indefinite," coach Pat Riley said before Thursday night's game against the Mavericks. "We're going to need a couple of days to sort of readjust to this."
