INCREASED RICE CERTIFICATION FEES: Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyards Administration revised the regulations governing the sampling, inspection, weighing and certification for rice by increasing certain fees charged for the services by approximately 18%. The rice fees will increase an additional 3% each year through fiscal year 2010 and establish a stowage examination fee. These revisions are necessary in order to recover, as nearly as practicable, the costs of performing these services under the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946.
