Baghdad Al-Sharqiyah Television in Arabic leads its 1200 gmt newscast with the following security-related reports:

- "Iraqi Police forces arrested 50 gunmen following violent battles in the town of Hit, west of Baghdad. Security sources said that the gunmen are affiliated with the Al-Qa'idah organization in Iraq, adding that the clashes resulted in the martyrdom of two policemen and the wounding of five others."
