Feb. 15--Albemarle Road Elementary School is on lockdown this morning, after students reported seeing someone near the campus with a gun.

According to CMS officials, three students spotted a person near the east Charlotte school, holding what appeared to be a firearm. The school went on lockdown about 9 a.m. That means students and staff must stay in their rooms, with nobody permitted outside the building.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were contacted and are investigating.
