Davao's mango producers cite concerns.

Davao City - Mango producers here are pushing for the passage of a law on chemicals similar to the generics law on medicines.

In a meeting with Akbayan party-list group last week, the Davao Region Mango Contractors Association said that a generics law for agro-chemical industry "will encourage more competition and ensure cheaper pesticides without compromising quality," association chairman Ednar Carlos Dayanghirang said in a recent interview. In principle, the Generics Law of 1988 is supposed to enable consumers to choose medicines they can afford.
