In 1900 Mr. Daly set out four Long field trees on his farm at Clover Bar. Last year one apple was grown and this year the trees had about twenty-five promising pippins. The bearing trees being a novelty in this part of the world, Mr. Daly's visitors were many and their desire to secure samples resulted in only eight apples being left on the trees.
