Van der Merwe must carry can for sad Stormers THERE can be no apology for mediocrity and there has to be consequence to the shambles that doubles for the 2007 Stormers.

If Stormers coach Kobus van der Merwe earned his salary in any other professional sporting arena he would be unemployed. When Van der Merwe stumbled through the 2006 Super 14 it was obvious he was not good enough. He should have been thanked and sent on his way a year ago. It is what Western Province's director of rugby, Nick Mallett, suggested should happen.
