Cebu City - Flexing its political muscle, the Garcia family gathered on Saturday nearly 600 local government officials from all six congressional districts on the island-province and launched a new political party that is committed to fight any attempt to divide Cebu into smaller provinces.

The One Cebu party, by far the biggest in Cebu, got the support of the Duranos who control the Bakud (Barug Alang sa Kauswagan ug Demokrasya) party in Cebu's fifth congressional district, and Rep. Eduardo Gullas (1st district), who heads the Alayon party.
