Feb. 8--Elijah Davis, almost 8 years old, is into karate now, but he also has big dreams of racing cars. "I want to be a driver," he said with confidence. Elijah, who is African-American, spends lots of time watching car races. "I've watched it like 500 times," he said. Yesterday, Elijah and other youngsters at the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority's Youth Sports and Fine Arts Academy received advice from African-American role models who have made history in NASCAR.
