Feb. 7--Leaders of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools received a mixed reaction Tuesday at the first in a series of meetings to discuss Superintendent Peter Gorman's 100-day plan. Several of Gorman's deputies addressed the crowd of about 40 at West Mecklenburg High, offering impassioned promises to help struggling schools. Some in the audience, such as West Meck parents Betty Seaman and Dianna Lackey, said they left with a better understanding of Gorman's vision. They said they liked the West Meck principal, who they now feel has the necessary support.
