Feb. 3--Dwight Simpson is gearing up for the biggest party he'll throw this year: a Super Bowl soiree. Simpson, a die-hard football fan, has invited 20 people to come to his house Sunday to watch the big game. Hosting a party, he said, is a tradition. "Oh, yeah, there's gotta be a Super Bowl Party," said Simpson, owner of the Silver & Black End Zone store in Modesto. When his guests arrive, they'll see football-themed decorations, gear and memorabilia throughout the house. They'll watch the game (and all those high-profile commercials) on at least three televisions, including Simpson's 42-inch high-definition LCD TV. He'll feed them fare fit for a great tailgate: grilled burgers, tri-tip, garlic bread, chips and dip, "just like when we go to a game."
