The Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) is the second full-pledged public university in Johor after Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Skudai.
The Batu Pahatbased university has a humble beginning. Starting as the Polytechnics' Staff Training Centre (PLSP) in 1993, it was upgraded to Tun Hussein Onn Technology Institute (ITTHO) three years later.
