Hotel operator wants to expand presence.

The operator of the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel is looking at expanding its presence in the Philippines following its takeover of the hotel's management from the Starwood group.

In an interview with BusinessWorld, Sofitel Philippine Plaza General Manager Bernd Schneider said the Accor Group, which owns the Sofitel brand, is on the lookout for other opportunities not only for Sofitel but also for its other lines.

Sofitel is Accor's brand for five-star hotels. Its other brands are Novotel, Mercure, Suitehotel, Ibis, Red Roof Inn, Etap Hotel, Formule 1 and Motel 6.
