Dubai-based Iraqi private Al-Sharqiyah TV on 31 January carried the following security related reports in its 1600 gmt and 1900 gmt news bulletins:

- "Militias supported by some Iraqi police members renewed their shelling of the Al-A'zamiyah area in northern Baghdad by firing a number of mortar shells. The new shelling comes 24 hours after 100 people were killed or wounded yesterday, Tuesday. A security source said that four people were martyred and 20 others were wounded when a number of mortar shells fell on Al-A'zamiyah this afternoon."
