New SAA cash mayday after 'very tough' year Erwin says it is important for state to keep control of airline Political Correspondent CAPE TOWN Talks were under way with the national treasury to secure state support for the further recapitalisation of struggling national airline South African Airways (SAA), which had experienced another very tough financial year, Public Enterprises Minister Alec Erwin told Parliament yesterday.
