The Herat Province security forces and a Counter-Narcotics Ministry delegation have cleared more than 400 jeribs [about 80 ha] of poppy fields in Ghowrian District of Herat Province.

Herat Governor Sayed Hosayn Anwari attended a ceremony to confirm this.

The Counter-Narcotics Ministry delegation reportedly went to Herat Province recently to clear poppy fields. Over the past two days, the delegation has cleared 350 jeribs of poppy fields with the cooperation of the security forces in the Zerkoh area of Shindand District. …
