Vietnam: Party leader urges Tien Giang to restructure its economy.

Section: Regional News - General Secretary of the Communist Party, Nong Duc Manh, has urged the provincial authority of Tien Giang to restructure its economy by shifting to trade and services.

At a meeting on Monday with the Tien Giang People's Committee, Manh said the province should also reform its agricultural sector by focusing on high-yield rice production, and the growing of fruit trees, industrial trees and the creation of eco-tourism areas.

He said the province should build industrial processing zones to fully use native raw materials and at the same time increase the added value of the province's products. …
