INSURANCE Services Malaysia Berhad (ISM) has a huge task on its hands.

When conceptualised in 1998 by the General Insurance Association of Malaysia under the Malaysian Insurance Rating Organisation project, ISM's key aim was to build the necessary databases to support the development of insurance pricing and reserving policies in a liberalised industry.

Today, the organisation is positioning itself as a premium insurance and takaful shared services provider in the region in which one of its key focus is to develop unique expertise in the area of takaful, aligning to the Government's aspiration to make Malaysia a centre for Islamic finance in the region.
