CCMA is no help to employers Nazmeera Moola's wish list for 2007 refers (Economic Viewpoint December 22 2006). Move to the top of her list the debacle that is the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation & Arbitration (CCMA). As a small, 30-person business in operation now for five years, our single biggest difficulty has been the dismissal of nonperforming staff. We have lost every single case and had to settle further amounts on the dismissed staff, despite trying to follow the rule book to the letter, with assistance from highly qualified human resources specialists.
