[Presenter] A state reception was held at The Castle [presidential palace] gardens last night [24 January] in honour of the immediate past secretary-general of the UN, Kofi Annan, and his wife Nane. The reception, according to our correspondents, was well attended and national in character. Among the gathering were President [John] Kufuor, Vice-President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, ministers of state and MPs and representatives of the various political parties such as the general-secretary of the NDC [National Democratic Congress] Johnson Asiedu Nketia and the leader of the GCPP [Great Consolidated Popular Party], Dan Lartey.
