County police move, and don't miss a beat: The Roanoke County Police Department on Tuesday moved into new, spacious quarters on Cove Road.

Jan. 24--Moving the entire police department would be a huge task even if Roanoke County's outlaws took the day off.

But "the crooks don't stop running just because we're moving," said county police Assistant Chief Donna Furrow. "So we're trying to take care of business while we're packing and unpacking."

The Roanoke County Police Department on Tuesday moved out of the county's public safety center on Peters Creek Road and into a bigger building at 5925 Cove Road beside Glen Cove Elementary School.

Emergency dispatchers and the county's information technology department had already moved into the new building. The…
