Jan. 23--School officials say students are back in their classrooms and it's business as usual this morning at West Mecklenburg High School, following a noisy argument among students earlier in the day.
About six to 10 students were involved in what Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools spokeswoman Tahira Stalberte called "an escalated verbal confrontation."
She said the argument among students resulted from an incident that happened last weekend in a neighborhood near West Mecklenburg. Today was the first day of classes for the week in CMS, as yesterday was a teacher workday marking the end of the first semester.
