Bangalore, 21 January: One person was killed and three others were injured in police firing to quell communal violence that flared up in this southern Indian city during a procession sponsored by a right-wing Hindu group as part of "Viraat Hindu Samotsav" Sunday [21 January].

Police fired to quell the violence in the Shivajinar police limits in which one person died and three were injured, Bangalore Police Commissioner N Achuta Rao said.

Night curfew was clamped in trouble-hit Bhartinagar, police said.
