Tax receipts up by 27 percent in first six months: Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that there has been 27 percent increase in revenue collection in the first six months of the current financial year, compared to the corresponding period of last fiscal year. He was speaking as chief guest at the Convocation 2007 of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, at its City Campus on Saturday.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, who is also the Patron of IBA, and Central Board of Revenue Chairman Abdullah Yousuf were also present on the occasion. The degrees of ''MBA in Tax Management'' were distributed on the occasion. Shaukat said that in the first six months of the current fiscal year, Rs 410 billion revenue has been collected.
